Performance Track Day is a unique high performance driving experience fueled by the passion of two professional racecar drivers with over 55 years of combined involvement in motorsports.  Whether that be vehicle testing, driver training, or ride and drive type programs, both Law and O’Connell have established themselves globally working with some of the best known brands in the business.

Together, the pair have created Performance Track Day: a track experience where individuals can take their own car on track and experience what its true capabilities are as well as learning more about their own skill level.  O’Connell and Law will be running each event, onsite to provide a coaching experience like no other.  Whether it’s your first time on track, or you’re an experienced professional, Performance Track Day is a one of a kind experience that will give you the opportunity to enjoy your car and improve your on track performance.

Johnny O’Connell

With 63 career wins driving for General Motors, Johnny has won more sportscar races for GM than any other driver in their history racing for both Corvette and Cadillac.  A four-time winner of the 24 hours of Le Mans, and eight-time winner of the 12 Hours of Sebring, he has been inducted into both the Corvette Hall of Fame as well as the Sebring Hall of Fame.

Johnny began his career with the Jim Russell School, and has been an instructor there, as well as Skip Barber, but the majority of his time was spent at the Bob Bondurant School where he was an instructor, as well as being the school’s Vice President until 2014.

Darren Law

Darren Law has been involved in the automotive industry for over 25 years.  Darren established himself with his success as a racing driver having spent more than a decade driving for several top tier teams.  The majority of his time was spent behind the wheel of a Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche, one of the most highly recognized Porsche factory supported GT racing programs.  He also spent several years racing prototypes, primarily with Brumos Porsche and Action Express.  Darren also spent several years in the driver training industry as well as the ride and drive industry, beginning with working as an instructor at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in 1991.

After leaving the school in 1996 to pursue his professional driving career, Darren achieved many successes including two driver championships, three trips to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and clinching the overall win at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2009 driving the Brumos Porsche Daytona Prototype.  In 2011, Darren returned to oversee the operations of the Bondurant School as the Chief Operating Officer.  During his time in this position, the business grew and established several new relationships.  Darren expanded his experience in the automotive industry showing his versatility consulting in race track and facility design for Thermal Motorsports Park in Palm Springs and working for Fox Sports both as a pit lane reporter and in the booth calling the 24 Hours of Le Mans for two years.

In 2014 Darren stepped down from his full time driving career and position at Bondurant to pursue an opportunity in team ownership of Flying Lizard Motorsports.  Darren currently manages all racing programs as well as runs the business operations for the team including working with manufacturers, sponsors, and media.  In its first five years of operation under Darren’s leadership, the team has established partnerships with McLaren GT, Porsche Motorsport North America, Audi of America, Toyo Tires, and Bentley, as well as solidified a partnership to facilitate the running of the K-PAX Racing team.
